I just like to watch movies. Here's a blog that keeps track of how I felt after watching them so that you could also watch or avoid them when you want to sit back and enjoy a movie.

Seven Swords

This is an epic movie adapted from a chinese novel with many chapters of epic proportions. Directed by Tsui Hark who gave us "Once Upon a Time in China" among others. Because it is adapted from a novel, this movie serves to introduce us to the characters of the 7 Swords. Not much of a plotline was revealed in this movie. Maybe there will be more in the next one, if there is a next one. I found that the movie was kind of confusing and there were lots of characters introduced without much time invested for each of them equally. But maybe the other characters will be given more time in a sequel, if there is one. I found the action reminiscent of old-school Tsui Hark movies with cut scenes and not that much special effects. There were more battle-like scenes than one-on-one martial arts fighting but they were there too. Those scenes were the ones which made me watch in awe. I'll have to tell you that the fight scenes were the best part of the movie. Without them, it is just an awful movie. Tsui Hark can still direct those action scenes. 7/10
